Managed EDR for MSP customers

An MSP can deliver EDR on the Xcitium platform or keep a customer’s existing EDR and add SOC monitoring and incident response. Both models support customer management through SOCaaP, guided onboarding and delivery under the MSP’s brand.

01

Choose a delivery model

The Xcitium model combines Xcitium EDR with SOC, incident response and SIEM/XDR visibility. Alternatively, the customer keeps an existing EDR such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne or Carbon Black.

Stage outcome: Xcitium EDR or the customer’s third-party EDR

02

Onboard customers

Set the customer environments and device coverage, then add new customers through guided setup. The SOCaaP dashboard supports unified customer management.

03

SOC monitoring and triage

The SOC monitors available telemetry, reviews signals in context and identifies events for investigation. In the Xcitium model, ZeroDwell containment is part of Xcitium EDR.

Stage outcome: Reviewed signals and incident context

04

Respond and report

Analysts follow the agreed response process and provide the MSP with findings to share with its customer. In the third-party EDR model, the Xcitium containment layer is an optional add-on.

Stage outcome: Response actions and a customer handoff

Capabilities

Capabilities with a specific purpose

01

Scope

Endpoint protection, EDR telemetry and SOC operations are delivered to customers through an MSP service model.

02

Workflow

Select device groups and policies during onboarding; analysts assess and prioritize alerts against the agreed response workflow.

03

Output and handoff

Hand off incident context, containment/remediation status and tracked next actions to the customer.

04

Responsibility boundary

Device scope, agent compatibility, SOC hours and response authority are agreed in the proposal and contract.

Before you start

Define MSP service boundaries

Agree customer tenants, device counts and groups, policy administration, agent deployment ownership, escalation contacts and report sharing. For the selected model, trace an approved test alert from one customer tenant through investigation and handoff; check the chosen containment layer and owner.

  1. 01

How are onboarding and policy ownership split between MSP and customer?

  2. 02

Which containment actions are automatic versus approval-based?

  3. 03

Which incident records and reports are handed to the customer?

In practice

An endpoint alert after business hours

Endpoint alerts accumulate after hours and the internal team cannot investigate every event. An MSP can choose Xcitium EDR or add SOC monitoring, threat hunting and incident response to the customer’s existing third-party EDR.

What your team gains

  1. 01

SOC monitoring and reviewed endpoint detections

  2. 02

    Proactive threat hunting and investigation

  3. 03

    Authorized containment and follow-up guidance

Before you decide

Questions, answered

What does Managed EDR do for an MSP?

It gives MSP customers endpoint telemetry, detection and an agreed response workflow.

How are customer devices onboarded?

Define device groups, policies and agent ownership, then validate telemetry and service onboarding.

How is response authority defined?

Document response authority, automatic containment, approval-gated actions and customer escalation in the agreement.
