Xcitium protection statistics: weekly measures

Performance Transparency publishes Xcitium’s historical statistics by week. Device View contains device measures, while File View shows how previously unknown files were classified: clean, potentially unwanted applications (PUA) or malware. When comparing figures, check the period, column label and the device or file population used to calculate the percentage.

Endpoint security measures

Device and file views

Device View groups endpoint measures, while File View groups later classifications of unknown files. Weekly historical rows make it possible to compare platform activity over time.

Device View measures

The first three Device View columns show percentages of active devices: those with potential malicious activity in containment; those in a known-good state with no unknowns; and those with malicious activity labelled API Virtualization. Infection/Breach is a separate percentage. Its column heading does not specify the population used to calculate it.

File View classifications

File View shows the share of unknowns classified as clean, potentially unwanted applications (PUA) or malware. PUA is a separate category; an organization can assess it against its own policies and business context.

Compare periods accurately

Compare the same measure across weeks. Check whether you are reading Device View or File View and, where specified, the population used to calculate the percentage. Device percentages and file percentages answer different questions and should not be compared as a single measure.

Before you decide

Questions, answered

How do Device View and File View differ?

Device View shows endpoint measures; File View shows later classifications of unknown files.

Is PUA the same as malware?

No. PUA means potentially unwanted application and is listed separately.

How should I compare weekly percentages?

Compare the same measures across the selected weeks. Check the table view and, where specified, the population used to calculate the percentage.
