Tim Bandos joins to lead SOC Services
On February 16, 2022, Xcitium announced that Tim Bandos had joined as Executive Vice President of SOC Services. He brought close to 20 years in managed security, with leadership experience in threat detection and incident response. His remit included building on the existing SOC team and strengthening Xcitium’s MDR services.
Experience at Digital Guardian and DuPont
Bandos previously served as CISO and VP of Managed Security Services at Digital Guardian, where he developed and led MDR initiatives. Earlier, he led the incident-response and threat-intelligence team at DuPont, setting the strategic direction for threat analysis. Those roles gave him experience in security leadership and operations.
Practitioner and advisor experience
Throughout his career, Bandos advised CISOs at major corporations on risk mitigation and cybersecurity practices. He also shared his experience at security conferences including RSA and Black Hat. Xcitium planned to apply both his practitioner and executive background to developing SOC services.
Strengthening SOC and MDR teams
Bandos said he wanted to build on the existing SOC team and strengthen the MDR services offered to customers. CEO Ken Levine said Bandos’s security-practitioner background and investigation experience brought a distinct skill set to improve those services.
