Coalition and Xcitium combine endpoint security and cyber insurance

The 2022 partnership is intended to connect Xcitium endpoint security with Coalition’s cyber insurance offering.

Server modules connected through a shared technology network

Key takeaway

Coalition’s cyber insurance, risk alerts and threat intelligence were combined with Xcitium AEP containment in a single customer offer.

Endpoint protection and cyber insurance

On April 5, 2022, Xcitium Security Solutions announced a partnership with Coalition Inc. The offer combined Xcitium Advanced Endpoint Protection with Coalition cyber insurance and risk-management services, aiming to help organizations prevent attacks while managing the financial and operational dimensions of cyber risk.

The protection technology

Xcitium AEP isolates unknown files and code for assessment, restricting access to live endpoint resources. The company positioned this as a way to reduce the impact of ransomware and other malware. The estimate cited in Xcitium’s 2022 announcement put the average cost of a successful SMB attack at US$160,000.

Perspectives from Xcitium and Coalition

Douglas Bailey, Xcitium EVP of Global Partnerships, said the companies aimed to combine endpoint protection and cyber insurance to give organizations a more complete response to risk. Matt Dort of Coalition Strategic Alliances praised Xcitium’s endpoint security and said customers would have preventive protection as well as Coalition insurance coverage if needed.

Coalition’s security platform

Alongside cyber insurance, Coalition offered automated security alerts, threat intelligence, expert guidance and tools to help businesses manage cyber risk. The partnership paired these capabilities with Xcitium endpoint containment, addressing both preventive protection and the financial side of risk.
