Protected execution environment for unknown files

Key takeaway

In AVLAB’s March 2022 test, two Xcitium endpoint products blocked all 2,050 samples and received an “Excellent” rating.

100% result in AVLAB testing

On May 2, 2022, Xcitium reported that its Advanced Endpoint Security and Internet Security products scored 100% in AVLAB Cybersecurity Foundation protection and detection tests. Both received an “Excellent” rating. The 17th edition of AVLAB’s Advanced In The Wild Malware Test had concluded in March 2022.

How the AVLAB test worked

AVLAB continuously evaluated ten endpoint-protection products using thousands of unique real-world malware samples. Products had to demonstrate their capabilities with all components and protection layers enabled. Xcitium said its Advanced Endpoint Security and Internet Security blocked all 2,050 possible threats and protected against every 0-day sample in that test.

Faith Orhan’s engineering perspective

Faith Orhan, Xcitium EVP of Engineering, described the results as evidence of the solution’s effectiveness in that test and explained Zero Trust as “Never Trust; Always Verify.” Separately, the announcement described keeping unknown files and code in a protective container until their safety was determined.

Virtual isolation in AEP

Xcitium described its patented virtual-isolation capability as keeping unknown files and code in a protective container until their safety is determined. Unified Endpoint combines this capability with Advanced Endpoint Protection, EDR and endpoint management in a cloud-accessible platform, supported by the company’s SOC-as-a-Service team.
