Key takeaway
Xcitium aligned its ZeroDwell and MDR approach with the strategy’s goal of reducing threat-triage and alert burdens on SMBs and local governments.
Responsibility in the National Cybersecurity Strategy
On March 9, 2023, Xcitium announced support for the White House National Cybersecurity Strategy. A central principle was to shift the burden of defense from individuals, small businesses and local governments to organizations better positioned to reduce risk. Xcitium connected that goal with making endpoint protection accessible to resource-constrained SMBs and local authorities.
Reducing the burden on SMBs and local governments
CEO Ken Levine said IT managers should not have to classify every file as safe, malicious or unknown while dealing with large volumes of alerts and false positives. Xcitium said ZeroDwell virtualizes unknown, undetected objects for assessment while restricting access to real assets, with MDR services helping manage the process.
Where policy and product approach meet
Levine said the strategy aligned with Xcitium’s effort to reduce risk through real-time containment and take on more of the operational burden. Sarah Pavlak, Industry Principal at Frost & Sullivan, said Xcitium EDR and MDR could ease CISO workloads by reducing alert fatigue and configuration complexity. The company connected these capabilities to the strategy’s aim of reducing demands on individuals and small organizations.
