Key takeaway

In a healthcare organization, define how remote helpdesk operations work with endpoint protection and which support tasks they cover.

Environment

Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre provided primary and other care in southwestern Ontario. It had more than 60 employees and over 112 endpoints, serving more than 17,000 patients.

Challenge

The centre sought a better fit than its costly incumbent endpoint protection. Its initial need was remote device control and helpdesk support.

Approach

The organization first used Xcitium Remote Control and Helpdesk modules, then moved to Xcitium Advanced Endpoint Protection. Data and Information Technology Lead Ken Mungar cited automatic containment as the main reason for choosing it.

Outcome

Ken Mungar said the solution simplified daily work and expressed confidence that it could prevent damage even if legacy detection failed.
